About the project

Chromas imagines three stages in the development of a colour-loving machine. Across three screens, an artificial agent observes its environment through a camera while its internal processing is made visible.

The installation treats perception and cognition as material to be staged rather than hidden inside a black box, asking what it means to watch a machine gradually acquire preferences.
